The Bros. Landreth
Dog Ear
Dog Ear is the fourth full-length album from acclaimed Americana band The Bros. Landreth. The band had just come back from touring their most recent album Come Morning (and a 10th Anniversary tour for their breakout album Let it Lie). Energized by their live chemistry, they immediately hit the studio and tried to harness that spirit towards writing and recording. The result is an album that is injected with their raw but world-class live set, but also the careful tenderness and production work they are known for.
Dog Ear is about figuring out what it means to be a consisten force for the people in your life that you care about. To show up and be there for your friends, your kids, your brother, your bandmates, your partner. This album, in a way, is leaving behind little crumbs of the things they hold dear and a hope that these crumbs lead you to the heart of the things you hold dear too. As new-ish fathers, itβs also about leaving something behind for their kids. Like folded dog-ear corners in a well-loved book, this album marks the history and love in your life for others to find later β to keep you from losing your place.
Dog Ear is full of rip-roaring guitar-driven romps, tender introspection, rich vocal harmonies, wild tones and lots of love and care. The album also features two magical appearances from Bonnie Raitt and one from Begonia. They both imbued a wonderful vocal counterpoint to The Bros. Landreth sound to create some truly special moments.
